About Dr. Gould
I have been practicing psychiatry for more than 20 years. I am passionate about the work that I do and understand that mental health symptoms often occur in the context of complicated biological, developmental, psychological, and/or social issues. I will take the time to explore and understand these issues and how they affect you and your family. I believe to be effective, the care I provide must be integrated with other therapies and interventions. I understand the value of collaboration and will work with you to help you achieve your goals.
Prior to moving to Florida, I was the Medical Director of Hillside, Inc in Atlanta, GA. While at Hillside, I was fortunate to complete extensive training in DBT and helped develop and implement a comprehensive DBT program. DBT is an evidenced-based treatment that combines cognitive behavior therapy techniques with mindfulness principles. DBT can help with many mental health issues including depression, anxiety, eating disorders, borderline personality disorder symptoms, trauma-related symptoms, interpersonal issues, problems with impulse control, problems with emotional regulation, self-injurious behaviors, and suicidal behaviors. I have seen firsthand how life-changing DBT can be. I also understand how important it is for psychiatric care to support DBT treatment.
My clinical approach routinely incorporates DBT principles with more traditional psychiatric interventions. As a result, I believe I have been better able to help the people I work with - whether they are enrolled in DBT or not. I am hopeful that I can be of help to you.
